In December 2014, thanks to its strong faculty team, excellent training system, good education environment and advanced ophthalmic training facilities, Changsha AIER Eye Hospital became one of the first Standardized Training Base for Resident Physicians in China, by successfully passing application, expert panel review and proclamation procedures. It is among 43 hospitals approved in Hunan Province and caught the most attention as a professional eye hospital.
In China, standardized resident training is an important part of post-graduate medical education and a necessary path for medical students to become qualified physicians. The qualification is a strong embodiment of the comprehensive strength of Changsha AIER Eye Hospital and is also a great recognition for AIER Eye Hospital Group, which is usually only granted to public hospitals.
At present, four AIER Eye Hospitals in Changsha, Shenyang, Nanchang and Wuhan have been recognized nationally as collaborative standardized training base for resident ophthalmologists.
