The 2018 International Refractive Surgery Symposium opened in Shanghai on May 26th


On May 26th, the 2018 International Symposium on Refractive Surgery (hereinafter referred to as 2018 IRSS) was held in Shanghai. The conference was jointly organized by the AIER Eye Hospital Group and AIER School of Ophthalmology, CSU, and supported by the AIER Eye Shanghai Hospital. The conference invited more than 400 authoritative ophthalmologists from China, North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific countries and regions, together with experts in China for academic exchanges, to help more myopic patients regain clear vision.

According to the research results of Australia’s top visual science research institution, the Brien Holden Vision Institution: the global number of patients suffering from myopia is 2.5 billion. According to the latest research report of the World Health Organization, the current number of myopic patients in China is more than 600 million. That is, at least one out of every five nearsighted people in the world is Chinese. With the rapid development of science and technology and the continuous improvement of people's consumption levels, refractive myopia surgery has gradually become the choice of many myopia patients. At the same time, China has made significant progress in the field. 2018 IRSS is a high-level academic feast for refractive surgery doctors around the world. International and domestic authoritative experts in the field gathered together to explore the latest progress.
