Recently, the official website of the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) released information on 7 hospitals and 7 mentors of AIER Eye Hospital Group as ICO training bases and training consultants. As the world's leading ophthalmology organization, ICO joined with AIER Eye Hospital Group for the first time, provides high-end international ophthalmology training opportunities for young ophthalmologists in various countries. The two sides will give full play to their respective advantages and jointly train international high-end ophthalmology talents to strengthen ophthalmology education and improve eye health.

The International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) represents and serves professional associations of ophthalmologists throughout the world, with 159 national and sub-ophthalmology member associations.

The ICO is working to build a “World Alliance for Sight” by leading, stimulating, and supporting the efforts of ophthalmologic societies, eye departments, and related organizations worldwide to enhance ophthalmic education and eye care.

Currently, the organization has 127 training points around the world, mainly in Germany, India, Japan and the United States, of which AIER Eye Hospital Group accounted for seven. The student selection process for ICO training is very tough, and the trainees are all excellent young ophthalmologists from all over the world.

As an international eye health group across Asia, Europe and the United States, AIER Eye Hospital Group has more than 300 professional eye hospitals around the world. An enormous database with more than 20 million of clinical cases is a gold mine for AIER to push through some important eye researches.

As a medical group integrated with production, education and research, AIER Eye Hospital Group has long been committed to promoting world-class ophthalmic technology and management concepts, and has cultivated and trained master's tutors, doctoral tutors, doctors, postdocs, and visiting scholars in Europe and America. It trained and attracted many experienced and well-educated, rigorous, innovative clinicians and management teams which include more than 3,500 ophthalmologists, accounting for about one-tenth of Chinese ophthalmologists.
